SEEK Camp
Summer Events for Exceptional Campers (SEEK CAMP)
is a unique opportunity for campers who are physically, emotionally and/or mentally challenged to learn about love, friendship, sharing, caring and living in a Christian community. Campers come from all over Texas, and from as far away as Washington and New York.
All activities are designed to accomodate the special needs of our campers. Each camper is encouraged and assisted by their counselor to participate in the camp community.
SEEK functions different from other church camps; we do mailings, make contacts with group homes and families, collect money, keep accurate records, and then account for it all after the camp. Many of the same people come to camp year after year, staff and campers.
We have arts and crafts, music, recreation, talent show, a dance, swimming, picnic, worship, and other activities and events in our weekend camp. Campers arrive on Friday morning and leave after Sunday worship. We have a nursing staff, responsible for medications and first aid. Some of our counselors have been coming for many years; some started as junior counselors and are now adults, responsible, experienced, and helpful.
SEEK Camp experiences are available for children ages 9 to 14, youth ages 15 to 20 and adults.
