A New Vision, A New Voice ~ The North Texas Conference

St. Paul Speaker Series

"You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone," (James 2:24) “. . . so also faith without works is dead," (James 2:26). The St Paul UMC Faith and Works Power Lunch summer series events will be held each Wednesday in June start time is 12 Noon. The Power Luncheons are informal events with an event tagline "Designed to feed the soul and affirm our faith." There are lunches available for $8.00; and most lunches are catered by local restaurants in the downtown Dallas area. The speakers for each event while sharing their life experiences will motivate and inspire attendees. The speakers for the events are as follows:

6/6 – Alice Riggins- Owner of All In One Tours, a 20 year domestic and international tourism business headquartered in Dallas.

6/13 – Dr. Sheron Patterson - Director of Communications for the North Texas United Methodist Conference. Dr. Patterson is a well-known Dallas pastor, author; her most recent book The Blessings and Bling, and she is a breast cancer awareness advocate. She has also chaired the City of Dallas Health Commission.

6/20 – Veletta Lill - Executive Director Dallas Arts District- Her mission “dedicated to stimulating the economic and cultural life of the region through the promotion of the district.” In her role as Executive Director she coordinates the diverse organizations of the arts-centric neighborhood in joint operational planning and marketing efforts – enhancing, highlighting and showcasing the internationally recognized district.

6/27 – Honorable Elzie Odom Sr. – Former Mayor of Arlington, Tx. - From mailman to mayor: Odom Sr. is a member of the City of Arlington Hall of Mayors. He is a champion for Arlington youth. He works to increase diversity on city boards and commissions through his active participation with Asian and Hispanic organizations, as well as the Arlington Branch of the NAACP and U.S. Conference of Black Mayors.
