The Holy Spirit forms us as we practice the disciplines of the Christian life, including prayer and Bible study. Our response is to remain open to God's transforming power through participation in acts of love, mercy and justice on behalf of all God's children.
Key scriptures for the event include:
Ephesians 4:15 We must grow up in every way into Christ.
Micah 6:8 What does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God?
During this event participants will experience a variety of forms of prayer, dig deeply into Bible study, and explore multiple opportunities through which to respond in acts of mercy to social justice issues. This event will be very interactive - don't expect to just sit in a chair and listen! Each participant will have the opportunity to select at least one action through which to "make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world" in the year ahead.
