Director of Youth Ministries

Youth Director (7th-12th grade)
Part-time: 8-10 hours/week
Education Requirements
We prefer at least 3 years of undergraduate work. A Graduate Degree is a plus, but we will look at all applications.
Requirements
Experience working with youth and families and a genuine love and concern for youth
Ability to operate in a team setting, with varied personalities and perspectives
Commitment to the mission and vision of the United Methodist Church
Provide leadership and development as described below:
Wednesdays , Sundays, and either Saturday or another day of the week for extra-activities.
Wednesdays: 6-8pm
- Eating/Fellowship time
- Worship/Bible Study time
- Games and activities
Sundays: 10am-Noon
- Lead the Youth Sunday school class
- Be present at the Worship Service from 11:00-Noon
- Participate in Worship as suitable for Youth on a regular basis
Special Events:
- Annual Retreats
- Summer program activities
- Youth projects in the local church and beyond
- Outings (examples: lock-ins, swim parties, movie nights, weekend camping, etc)
- Provide support to other ministries in the church (VBS, Lord's Acre, etc)
Service Projects:
- Coordinate Youth fund raising for trips and activities
Youth Volunteers:
- Work with the congregation to build a support team for the Youth ministries
Accountability:
- This position is accountable to the Senior Pastor and the Staff Parish Relations Committee
