JOB DESCRIPTION:
Contract Period: August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012 (August through June work year)
Reports To: CCDC Board of Directors, LHUMC Senior Pastor
Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000

DIRECTOR PERSONAL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and live a lifestyle in accordance with Christian principles
Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education and or elementary education
Previous experience as a Preschool Director is preferred
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain an organized approach to running a preschool
Demonstrate general knowledge and understanding of child development (early childhood education for ages 6 months through 5 years)
Must have a high quality work ethic and a desire to maintain excellence in all aspects of the school
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Educational Leader
Plan a faith based, age-appropriate curriculum
Plan for the evaluation of students in relation to progress, abilities and special needs
Preparation of staff job descriptions
Provide in-service training of staff
Evaluate staff annually and as needed
Provide orientation training and regularly scheduled staff meetings
Hire and arrange for substitutes as needed
Operational Leader
Hire, manage, train and support school staff
Work with teachers to create and implement age appropriate curriculum and activities
Ensure safety of students and staff in a nurturing environment
Manage school facilities and finances
Initiate and maintain open communication between CCDC parents, CCDC staff, CCDC Board of Directors
and LHUMC staff
Attend monthly CCDC Board of Directors meetings (evenings) and subcommittee meetings
Operate CCDC in accordance with the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services Day Care
Center Minimum Standards and Guidelines
Manage public relations and communications with staff, parents and the Lake Highlands Community
Maintain long term planning of school programs, curriculum, facilities and leadership training
