Ministry scholarship available from Tyler Street UMC, Dallas

Applicants are being accepted for the Ted R. Dempsey Scholarship, given through Tyler Street UMC, Dallas, to provide one or more annual scholarships to promote the growth of Christianity throughout the world by funding monetary support for a student in ministerial studies.

Guidelines are: class level as a college junior above, including graduate students, with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and a major in a field of Christian ministry.

Applicants are asked to submit all required documentation and information, including requirements of fi nancial need, academic record, ability to succeed and variety of avocation. Please include a financial aid form provided by the college or university. Actual need is a factor in the awarding of scholarships, so this form is required.

The Scholarship Committee indicates that every application is read and carefully reviewed and the decision is based on excellence, achievement, academic and career goals, recommendations, and the potential to make a significant contribution to the scholar’s field of study and society. Students well established in their programs are given priority.

The completed application can be in narrative form and send by certified mail with return address to Scholarship Chair: Mary Margaret Roberson,3312 Southwestern Blvd, Dallas, TX 75225.

Deadline for 2009 applications is June 1.
