Mary Miriti, Lovers Lane UMC, Dallas receives Georgia Harkness Scholarship

Mary Miriti, member of Lovers Lane UMC, Dallas, and student at Perkins School of Theology, SMU, is one of the 11 women chosen to receive the 2009-10 “Georgia Harkness Scholarship.” She will join other recipients in visiting the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to advance her leadership development globally. The seminary scholarships go to women over 35 who are preparing for ordination as elders in the UMC as a second career. The recipients are chosen by a committee of UMC elders and GBHEM staff.
