CCYM chair Becca Walters presents report via video

Brian Tan, new CCYM chair.
Outgoing Chair of the Conference Council on Youth Ministries (CCYM) addressed the conference Monday from a hotel room, a room of girls on her church's choir tour, that is.
A member of the Credo Choir---a youth choir at First UMC, Denton, currently on tour---Becca Walters reported via a video recording that CCYM members traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa, for the first Global Young People's Assembly.
She said that the North Texas Youth Annual Conference gave their support to a legislative item presented in Johannesburg. The document recommends the United Methodist Church welcomes into church membership all people, regardless of sexual orientation.
Walters directed the attention of the Annual Conference from her choir's hotel room to the Plano Centre as she introduced the incoming CCYM Chair.
From the conference podium, Brian Tan said that he has served on the South Central Jurisdiction's Youth Team and the General Board Of Discipleship's Division on Ministries with Young People.
He described himself as a seventeen-year-old who plays in the orchestra and enjoys swimming. A member of Faith UMC, Richardson, Tan said, "I am humbled and blessed to be standing before you as the CCYM Chair."
Walters declared that the late Bishop Rhymes Moncure, Jr., approved this video delivery method for the CCYM report.
