Hopkins Lectures to feature futurist
Dr. Sine
Futurist Dr. Tom Sine will present the 2010 Hopkins Lectures March 7-8 at First UMC, Denton. “Re-Imagining faith, Church & Mission for Life in Turbulent Times, 2010—2020,” will be the topic for this consultant in futures research and planning for both Christian and secular organizations.
Dr. Sine also works to help Christian organizations develop a holistic theology of mission. He speaks widely at colleges, churches and missions events, and leads creativity seminars for a variety of groups. He is an adjunct professor for Fuller Theological Seminary, Seattle, WA, where he teaches a course on Christian Worldview.
He holds a Ph.D. in history with a minor in futures study from the University of Washington and is the author of numerous books including, The New Conspirators: Creating the Future One Mustard Seed at a Time.
The George M. and Eleanor F. Hopkins Lectures, which began in 1984, are a gift to Denton and the community and NT churches, given by George and Jane Hopkins in honor of his parents. There is no cost for admission.
The lectures begin with the March 7 Sunday worship at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 a.m.
The second lecture will be Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m.
