Renewing hope through mission

Both current volunteers in mission and all those interested in a deeper understanding of Christian mission are invited to "Hearts and Minds for Mission: An Intensive Seminar for Lay Mission Volunteers"
The seminar will be held Oct. 16 at First UMC, Richardson, by the Global Theological Education Program at Perkins School of Theology, SMU.
Perkins faculty members will offer in-depth workshops exploring how the scriptures speak of hope for the nations, how Volunteers in Mission can join in renewing the hope of communities trapped in structures of poverty and injustice, and how volunteers in mission can be part of the renewal of their own congregations.
The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with worship led by Dr. Michael Hawn, and workshops will be offered from 9:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $40 per person
