Prothro Center seeks weekend volunteers

4/27/2007

The Prothro Center at Lake Texoma, a ministry of hospitality owned and operated by the NTC, is seeking either a volunteer individual or couple to greet and host guests, to be a host at meals, to sell items in the gift shop, and to do light cleaning.

Volunteers would spend a weekend a month, or longer at the beautiful 65 acre state-of-the-art conference and retreat center. The Prothro Center is located 75 miles north of Dallas, near the lakeside community of Pottsboro.

Qualifications include a welcoming and engaging spirit, a desire to serve, a proven history of responsibility, a sense of calmness, and the ability to work a varied schedule, predominately on weekends. Persons should be willing to commit to a set, reoccurring weekend or time period between May and October. Year service may also be considered.

The Prothro Center will provide to the volunteers their lodging and meals during the "on-duty" periods. Presently, long-term housing cannot be provided.

For additional information, or for an application and an interview, please contact Executive Director Larry W. Anderson, 903-786-2141, or visit www.prothrocenter.org.
