'Is art worth a life?' - Rescuing art

To art aficionado Robert M. Edsel, the answer to "Is Art Worth a Life?" is simple:
"I'm often asked that question," Edsel told about 300 audience members Oct. 28 at University Park UMC, Dallas. "And I say, 'They are inseparable: art is life.'"

NTC Check Out Day changed to Jan. 17
At the request of the NTC Cabinet, the date of Check Out Day has been changed from Friday, Jan 18, 2008, to Thursday, January 17. This is the day that local church pastors meet with the District superintendents and statisticians to submit final membership and accounting paperwork for the previous year.
Close Out Day, the deadline for all apportionments to be submitted to the NTC Treasurer's Office, is determined by NTC Standing Rules and remains noon Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 ...
Press conference to announce historic church collaboration
A press conference planned Nov. 29 at the One Arts Plaza in the downtown Dallas Arts District will be the forum to announce a joint effort by Saint Paul UMC and Highland Park UMC to renovate the Saint Paul building.
