Talk about fun - on June 3 we invited all the pastors in the Conference who had ever planted a new church to a luncheon.
Few ministry challenges are tougher than starting from scratch: little money, long hours, no facilities, few people, no identifiable foothold in a community...praying to survive, hoping to thrive. Lovers Lane UMC, Dallas, will celebrate a debt retirement and groundbreaking ceremony for the Tom Shipp memorial Chapel, Hospitality Corridor and the John and Mary Watson Hall on June 15, immediately following the 11:00 a.m. worship services.
The groundbreaking will be a continuation of worship as participants process into the plaza for the ceremonies.
