A New Vision, A New Voice ~ The North Texas Conference
Social Media Star to Teens and Young Adults to Show You How it’s Done
Sign up now for Dr. Greg Neal’s workshop on reaching the young over Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and YouNow.
Back in April, The North Texas Connection did a profile on Dr. Greg Neal, the First UMC Commerce pastor who is a social media hit with teens and young adults — as in millions of views and thousands of followers. The story was also a hit with readers, and a lot of you wanted to know how he does it so well.
You get your chance to find out September 21, 2016. Dr. Neal will lead a seminar on reaching the young through Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and especially YouNow, his nightly question-and-answer broadcast popular with 13- to 25-year-olds. The 9:00 a.m. to noon seminar, which includes a continental breakfast, is part of the Connect 360 Church Communications Series.
Dr. Neal’s audience “is very young, not churched — or if they are, they are on the edge of church. It is a great space to talk to people outside the church. YouNow is an incredible tool that could be used by the church.”
In the seminar, he’ll present YouNow video clips of his broadcasts, along with other popular YouTube and YouNow channels. He’ll reveal the social media ministry options on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat as well as options, possibilities and pitfalls. Participants will brainstorm and build their own potential social media ministries.
Participants don’t need any social media skills, but should bring a laptop or mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.
