We worship to invite the creative spirit of God to move among us and to evoke the Imago Dei that dwells within each of us. Come and worship with clergy and laity from all over the North Texas Conference to be inspired by the innovative Creator who continually invites us to join in the work of making all things new.
Opening worship on Sunday evening will feature a creative musical celebration of the days of creation orchestrated by the talented Rev. DeAndre Johnson. As we glimpse a vision of the new heaven and the new earth of Revelation 21, we will hear the inspiring preaching of Rev. Philip Rhodes. Those who have served faithfully over the years will be honored alongside their families in our memorial service. Their legacy continues on as we commission young adults serving this summer including: Project Transformation, Lydia Patterson Institute, Bridgeport Camp and Conference Center, SIM Fellowships and the C2K programs.
Monday evening worship will highlight the Service of Ordination and Commissioning. Bishop Michael McKee will lead us through a time to celebrate what God is creating anew through those beginning in ministry. A combined adult and youth choir of First United Methodist Church of Richardson will lead us in praise.
Tuesday afternoon we will celebrate the 150th anniversary of our North Texas Annual Conference as we are consecrated for service in ministry together in the reading of appointments and a special time of holy communion.
Rev. DeAndre Johnson, our guest musician will lead us throughout our time of gathering together, invoking the creative spirit of God to empower and embolden us for ministry.
