A New Vision, A New Voice ~ The North Texas Conference
Deadline is Oct. 3 to Submit Sexual Harassment Survey
COSROW is conducting the survey across the denomination to pinpoint and resolve any issues.
The Oct. 3 deadline is approaching quickly to complete the 2017 Sexual Harassment Survey sent out by the General Commission on the Status and Role of Women, or COSROW.
The agency devised the survey in an effort to address sexual misconduct across The United Methodist Church.
“It is designed to give voice to all people, male and female, who work in or attend UM churches and office,” COSROW says.
“In general, they are looking to pinpoint issues, and, once they know what the issues are, to provide solutions,” said Rev. Emma Williams, who specializes in faith formation in the NTC Center for Leadership Development.
Williams is the conference liaison for the NTC committee on the Status and Role of Women. Jean Wood, a laywoman, chairs the committee.
COSROW expects to publish findings later this year, Williams said.
The survey takes between five and 20 minutes, and responses will be anonymous, with data tracked in the aggregate rather than individually.
“The results will provide important feedback that will help our denomination identify and address abuse,” COSROW says.
Please take some time to complete this survey. The deadline for submitting is Oct. 3. Thank you for your commitment to the safety and dignity of all people who enter into the doors of North Texas United Methodist communities.
For questions about the survey, call Becky Williams, COSROW senior director for sexual ethics and advocacy, at 312-346-4900.
